Back at the flower shop, a lot has been going on behind the scenes at within the last couple of weeks; we have been busy with fall weddings, charity benefits, and planning upcoming bridal shows. To top it all off we are starting our holiday decorating in anticipation for our third Christmas! To name drop on a couple of our near future events are; The Bridal Expo on October 18th at the Double Tree Hotel in Oak Brook. The expo will be from 11:45 to 4pm and will feature a fashion show at 2pm. On November 7th we will be participating in The Ladies Day out Charity Event; which is being held from 9am-2pm at White Hawk Country Club in Crown Point. This event is taking place with thirty other vendors to help raise money for Halo of Hope Foundation. Don’t forget to come to our Third Annual Christmas open house which is taking place on Sunday November 1st! Brides we will see you in Oak Brook, and everyone else we hope to see you at White Hawk to get in on Monarch’s exclusive deals.

CANDLES FOR EVERY ROOM

I'm so excited to tell everyone about our new addition to our candle line-up. Candles by Lafco are so amazing! First there is the House and Home Collection, with names like "den" , "boudoir" and "master bedroom". Each candle's name and scent fits the fragrance to a T. There are scents for every room in your home. Then there is the Dream Home Collection. My ultimate favorite is "ski house". It's scent is made up of fragrances that remind you of sitting on a bear rug by the fire sippin' hot cocoa in a log cabin in your jammies. Yep. Just one whiff and you're there. Both collections are soy based, and are poured in hand blown glass vessels that are just beautiful. They burn over a whopping 100 hours. Did I mention they come gift boxed in the most beautiful boxes? With all of these added extras they are priced right at $55.

At our Summer Blow out Clearance sale this past month, we had a drawing to win free flowers for a year... and Christine Perez (on left) was our winner! Today she picked up her first bouquet! We usually pick 2 winners a year, so all you fans of Monarch's fresh flowers still have a chance!

Another year has passed! For most, another year passing isn't so exciting... but for all of us at Monarch- it means we made it through our first year!! Yep, we are celebrating our 1st birthday. I am so excitied for 2009. The displays, the new products, it's all going to blow you out of the water! So stay tuned. I am going to share my top picks and must haves all throughout the year. Santa Claus is comin' to town!

This year is going to be a rough one that's for sure. But we aren't going to let that ruin Christmas! We are going to celebrate even bigger this year. For those of you who haven't been in to see the spirit of Christmas at Monarch yet... you better hop to it! We are already selling out of a lot of items. I know most people will be at the mall or the big box stores the day after Thanksgiving, but stop by and see all the great things we have! You will not be disappointed. I hope to see all of my favorite people in the coming weeks. Now that wedding season is come to a close, I'm here more often. Come enjoy a hot cider and cookies- cause Santa Claus is comin' to town!

Wedding Season 2008...

I must say fall has always been my most favorite season. So many beautiful colors, the fresh crisp air.... and trips to the apple orchard. This is why I am not at all surprised that so many brides now are choosing September, October, and November for their weddings. Fall is the new Summer!

This year has been so great and so exciting for all of us here at Monarch. Being our first year in business and not knowing what to expect- we have truly been blessed. Thank you to everyone who supported us and chose Monarch for your big day. Thank you and keep falling in love!
